Preface

Driven by an increased awareness of environmental problems and technology improvements, solar energy technology has become an important source of business in the sanitary, heating and air-conditioning sector.
For this reason, service technicians must have a good knowledge about the possibilities to use solar energy and about the solar energy technology available in the marketplace. They should not only be able to install and maintain corresponding systems but also especially be able to advise customers, recommend problem solutions and execute customer orders completely on their own.
The present module "Solar energy technology" offers the service technicians an introduction into the most important aspects and application areas of solar energy technology. Furthermore, it gives teachers and trainers an overview about the technical installations, one should ideally have available for a practice-oriented teaching which helps to achieve optimal training results.
