Preface

The use of electric parts and components as well as the use of electronic controllers and regulators in the sanitary, heating and air-conditioning sector is rapidly increasing. As a consequence, service technicians should have a basic knowledge in electrical engineering enabling them to solve electrical problems and to repair and do the maintenance of corresponding devices and installations on their own. In addition to this, the constant innovations, improvements, and changes of the products that have electrical components make it absolutely necessary for the service technicians to adapt their skills permanently through continuous training and learning to these new requirements. In this sense, the present MODULE "Electrical engineering - Basics" wants to give service technicians of the sanitary, heating and air-conditioning sector an introduction into the most important basic aspects of electrical engineering.
