The Sixth-Form High School

In the sixth-form high school the following subjects are taught:

Religion
German
Geography
History/social studies
English
Maths
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
Sports
Music
Art
Technology

From the 7th grade every pupil chooses one of the subjects:

Humans and environment
Nature and technology
and the 2nd foreign language

In the 7th grade the pupils work with computers.

There are also different voluntary study groups:

Music groups, Computer Science, photo and film, theatre groups, text processing at PC.

Leaving examinations and entrance qualifications

Leaving examination in the 10th grade: Mittlere Reife (corresponds sixth-form)

After 6 school years at the and of the 10th grade pupils pass an examination. If they pass the examination successfully the pupils have different opportunities. For example: an appranticeship, handicraft, Industry, trade or admimistration.

How to change to other school types

Grammar school: after the sixth-form examination you can change to a grammar school. But only pupils with very good marks can go there.
