Here it is asked which influence certain regions, areas or neighbourhoods exercise on social groups and how they shape their identity. At the same time money, traffic, movement of goods and information channels change the character of a region or social habitat up to global dimensions what allows new freedoms, but also raises fears among people.

At the example of some Balkan states, Cyprus and Spain the reasons behind the facts of regional conflicts are explained - some of them have, however, considerable consequences on the internal and external peace of the European Union.
